Project Manager for International Liaison Office (ILO)

Your Responsibilities and Tasks

As the project manager for the International Liaison Office (ILO), you will be responsible for developing a new cross-agency collaboration function aimed at strengthening exchange and concrete cooperation with countries in Sweden's vicinity. The position will be placed in the department's staff and will particularly focus on collaboration with the Nordic countries, the Baltic States, Poland, and Germany. You will coordinate the development work of ILO, project manage additional liaisons including their tasks in close dialogue with operational managers within the agency, contribute with materials and reporting within the area of responsibility, and continuously monitor policy development in the region within the agency's area of responsibility. Connections to various forms of exchanges and support with Ukrainian counterparts should be pursued when appropriate, as well as connections to relevant processes within the EU and NATO. You will support the preparation and implementation of meetings, initiatives, and activities among actors in the region. You are expected to adopt a cross-agency perspective when preparing cases and engage in broad dialogue internally and externally with the Government Offices, other actors, countries, and organizations. The position requires travel.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for someone with a higher academic education in political science and crisis management or another education that the employer finds relevant. Furthermore, you have deep knowledge of international work focusing on security and defense policy in Sweden's vicinity. You also have:

  • very good analytical skills and the ability to drive and lead complex tasks and projects
  • skills in international coordination and diplomatic contacts
  • experience working with policy-related communication as well as qualified collection of information and text processing in Swedish and English
  • experience from working in international organizations

It is advantageous if you have:

  • very good knowledge of English and other relevant languages
  • experience of collaborations and projects that involve broad cooperation with authorities, civil society organizations, business representatives, and academia.

You have excellent communication and collaboration skills and are flexible and humble regarding your tasks. The workload is sometimes high, and therefore you have a structured working method and a high level of stress tolerance, independence, and the ability to prioritize.

About the Employment

We offer you a fixed-term employment for 12 months. Your workplace will be Stockholm, and travel is part of the employment.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security review with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are designated for war.
